SURVIVOR OF THE MONTH
In the midst of Khlong Thoei, right by the Rama IV road, lies the gym Rhino Strength and Conditioning. Although being relatively new on the Bangkok Gym Scene, Rhino SnC has become a second home to both beginners as well as elite athletes. The gym has a wide array of athletic disciplines to partake in such as, Powerlifting, Bootcamp and Strongman all of which are led by Patient Cena, head coach and Co- creator of the company.
Coming from humble beginnings, Cena was born and raised in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where he originally found his passion in strength training. Now, five years later, having moved to Bangkok with a clear vision, discipline and countless lifts later he have earned several titles in both Powerlifting and Strongman.
It was in the early 2018 that Cena and a group of three others began the planning and establishment of “Rhino Fitness”, predecessor of today’s Rhino Strength and Conditioning. Recognized as a great athlete, having earned the unique nickname as “The African Rhino”, Cena was to be both the inspiration behind the name of Rhino Fitness, and the public face of the company. By reaching out to neighbours, family, friends and near locals, Rhino Fitness began to build a community. However, due to an unexpected turn of events, the company had no other choice than to move out of their initial locale.
As hard as the situation became, many would have ended the business then and there. For the three remaining members of the business however, this was out of question. through huge determination and sheer will they managed to find their current location at Rama IV and rebuild the company under the name Rhino Strength and Conditioning. Thankfully, the company has been able to build a new constantly growing community and is today thriving more than ever.
The team at Rhino SnC sends their regards and hope to see you there soon. The first class is free, nothing to lose, all to gain!
